R&R Surface Protectors, Inc. announces the passing of company President, Douglas McArthur.

Douglas Mark McArthur, 75, of Fort Collins, died May 22, 2018 in Fort Collins. He was born July 31, 1942 to David and Faith (Daggett) McArthur in Fort Collins, Colorado. On July 7, 1978 he married Caroline Kay Wise in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Doug graduated from Fort Collins High School, Class of 1960. He spent his career in sales and management. He worked for Osborn Hardware, Diamond Lumber, Center Rental & Sales, RSC Equipment Rental and eventually retired from United Rentals. He was co-owner of R&R Surface Protectors for 20 years and then sole owner for the previous four years.

He loved to play pickleball with his family of friends at the Fort Collins Senior Center. Doug enjoyed camping, fishing, golf and Monday breakfast meetings with his long-time buddies. He was an avid Broncos fan, NASCAR fan (Petty#43) and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Doug is survived by his children Augie McArthur, Kristin Fisher, Cindy Habermehl, Lonni Buerger and Lance Hagans; his sister Beverly Woods; 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Caroline; his sister, Barbara Frawley; his sister, Joyce Stump and his parents, Faith and David McArthur.

As one of the original owners and current President, Doug brought immeasurable industry experience to R&R in so many areas. He was always the salesman. Colleagues would say, “Doug could sell anything to anyone!” We will miss his character, sarcasm and generosity. Rest in Peace.
